Top Ten Tuesday is an original weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish
Okay so I have a confession…
Well you see…
Most of these “new” series are books that I’ve had from Harper Collins for close to a year now. There were a lot of reasons: mood reading, my summer rereading kick, but most of all, I hate starting series when all the books aren’t published. I suffered through Harry Potter like the rest of the world and I never want to do that again. Besides I’m notorious for my impatience – if it takes too long for a series to be published, I just drop it like a hot cake. However these are in my Kindle so I will get to them…eventually.
Weekly feature created by Shanyn @ Chick Loves Lit, hosted by Vy’s Blog.
I debated whether I wanted to post both a canon and shipped couple but decided to stick with just canon. All the ships for another day, another (very long!) post.
Book With Your Favorite Fictional Couple
Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe (Anne of Green Gables series)
When I thought about my favorite couple, Anne and Gilbert immediately popped into my head. Now I haven’t read this series in YEARS but this couple was the first one I thought about. I realized that their relationship was one of the few I’ve read that seemed real. So much of the romance in genre novels these days pushes the boundaries with insta-love, triangles, and incredible circumstances (not to say that these never happen but it’s rare). And contemporaries are not immune from this either, sometimes they are the worst offenders. But Anne of Green Gables is one of the few series I’ve read in which the main love interests stay true to their character and fall in love anyways.
Who is your favorite fictional couple? What is it about their relationship dynamic that you like so much? Let me know in the comments below!
How many of you have started a series, loved it and for some reason never continued? Who here is sick and tired of getting the judgey face because you haven’t read “that” series yet? How often have you said “I really want to read that series!” only to not even glance at it in the bookstore? By a show of hands how many of you have added an entire series to your Goodreads TBR shelf more than 3 months ago and STILL haven’t started yet?! The 2014 Series Challenge is your chance to take all those empty promises and make them real.

Yup, yup, this is yet another reading challenge sign-up post.
Originally I though this was going to be a lot easier because I intended to reread a couple series but I guess that doesn’t count…
